Composition of the CWS® Board of Directors

Role of the CWS® Board of Directors
The Board of Directors will provide leadership and direction to the CFI staff dedicated to the day-to-day operations and administration of the CWS® certification program and CWS® Practitioner Society, including, but not limited to the following:

  • Provide an ongoing review of CWS® curriculum, certification requirements, and standards of performance
  • Develop the CWS® Continuing Education program policies and procedures
  • Determine the CWS® Alumni Society member benefits and ongoing relations
  • Review of public complaint(s) and decide upon the disciplinary action for individual

Meetings of the CWS® Board of Directors
The CWS® Board of Directors will meet quarterly or as needed.

One (1) Annual meeting in collaboration with the Advisory Board – scheduled around the weekend prior to CWS® Practice Management Skills (Grow Your Business 1).

Composition of the CWS® Advisory Board

  • Warren Bimblick, Publisher of Trusts & Estates and Registered Rep
  • Joel Marks, Vice Chairman/COO, Advanced Equities Financial Corp.
  • Frank Hynes, Talent Management - Training & Development, Charles Schwab

Roles & Responsibilities of the CWS® Advisory Board
The Advisory Board will:

  • Review CWS® policies and procedures set by the CWS® Board of Director
  • Provide ongoing counsel to the Board of Directors from an industry perspective in order to maintain the CWS® program as a current and timely professional certification
  • Provide outreach to the market through introductions
  • Serve as ambassadors for the designation

Commitment-Meetings of the CWS® Advisory Board

One Annual meeting:
The Advisory Board will convene annually the weekend prior to CWS® Practice Management Skills (Growing Your Business I) program.

Four- (4) web conference calls a year (Quarterly)

The Disciplinary & Ethics Committee is comprised of members of the CWS® staff, certificants and the CWS® Board of Directors:

  • CWS® Staff
  • Hearing Panel
  • Board of Professional Review
  • Board of Appeals
