Certified Wealth Strategist® Program
How to Complete a Lesson
Completing each lesson will be a three-step process. Complete Step 4 after you have completed all lessons in a learning module. Complete Step 5 after you have completed all classroom sessions and the studies.
Completing a Lesson -Ten (10 lessons)
Step 1 Audio Session
Listen to selected disc from The Wealth Management Advisor Audio Series – Growing Your Business and 13 Wealth Management Issues. Each audio lesson is approximately one hour and should be completed in a single time block prior to the next step.
Step 2 Readings and Activities In the Study Guide
Read the Study Guide’s core materials for the lesson and the readings from 21st Century Estate Planning and Concepts for Professionals. As you read, highlight key words and phrases. After completing all readings, review the Case Studies in the Study Guide and test your knowledge with the Self-Assessment.
Step 3 e-Learning Lesson
Complete the e-Learning lesson that will include cases studies, video vignettes, and assessments. The e-Learning lesson is available on the Cannon Financial Institute Learning Management System (LMS) website. The e-Learning lesson will bookmark your progress during the session, and should you exit before you finish, the next time you logon you will have the option to return to your last point of progress. You will sign in using your logon and password following the specific connection information provided to you during your first instructor-led training session.
Once you have completed all lessons in a Module, complete the online mastery examination.
Step 4 Mastery Examination- Four (4) Modules
You should plan to complete the exam in one session. A passing score of 85% is required, and if you do not pass, you can retake the exam online. The Mastery Exams are available on the Cannon Financial Institute LMS.
The Capstone Project is the final step and is completed once both instructor-led sessions and all assignments have been completed.
Step 5 Capstone Project
At the end of your CWS® program of study, you will develop a Capstone Project. However, as you are working through each lesson, begin to keep notes on specific strategies and tactics that you can embody in your Capstone Project. Identify the action steps you will use once you have your CWS® designation, including:
- Client interactions, scripts, topics and tools
- Business practice changes, actions and tools
- Resource use, source and location
- Knowledge inventory, gaps and solutions
Detailed information for completing the Capstone Project will be provided to you during the final instructor-led session.
